Well we wondered what the turnout may be like this week... it's been pretty steady the last few Quiz Nights with six or seven teams but we were hoping for a bumper turnout to get that rollover Cash Prize over the £150 mark!

It looked worrying, by 8:30pm the pub was quiet, it didn't look good. Then with fifteen minutes to go Quizzers started arriving in their droves… phew! By the time we had the quiz sheets out just after nine and the money in their were nine teams and 36 quizzers ready to play for the £157 Cash Prize. Game On!

This weeks clue was: You may recognise their faces and probably many other parts of their anatomy... but can you remember their names!

This weeks Picture Round was a bit risque, Porn Stars. Tasteful pics though not 'action' shots. When Sarah S got the clue from the website she tweeted that she didn't want to research the subject for fear of what might appear! She needn't have worried though in stepped team mate Phil 'The Power' with his superior knowledge.

While our teams were perusing the porn pics (sorry, this will get us more hits on Google… porn, sex, Sylvia Saint, Ben Dover etc) we got stuck in to the  first round of General Knowledge, ten questions not on Porn, Sex, Hardcore, Reverse Cowgirl or otherwise!

Quizmaster John announced there would be an additional point for the team with the best name. Considering Kate had just had a Royal baby and the picture round was Porn Stars the potential for some fun names was endless!

Top Porn watchers were Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales, Everyone Lean Forward And Look At Mike Hock and The Bullets - who all got full marks. Sloppy seconds we had Her Majesty's Secret Cervix and The Collyflowers who got a reasonable 10 and then the rest of the teams obviously just didn't watch enough porn (or didn't admit to it) as they got sevens and less.

General Knowledge, which we were worried wasn't hard enough this week, posed more of a problem. Cock of the North was The Collyflowers with a stiff 8, coming up the rear in second we had Her Majesty's Secret Cervix, One (Idiot) Born Every Minute and She & Him and in third, Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales on sex. Were these questions hard?

Q6 Charles Babbage invented the forerunner of which piece of electronic equipment?
Q9 What was the name of the ill-fated British unmanned probe which disappeared while en route to the surface of Mars in 2003?

After totting up the scores for the Pics and General Knowledge Quiz Master John gave the results. In the lead we had Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales and The Collyflowers on 18, in second we had Her Majesty's Secret Cervix, Everyone Lean Forward And Look At Mike Hock and The Bullets with the rest of the teams on 14 and below. Who said watching porn was a waste of time?

Based on the laughs at the first calling of the team names Quiz Master John went for Everyone Lean Forward And Look At Mike Hock to get the additional point, although Her Majesty's Secret Cervix and Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales did get some chuckles. This spurted Everyone Lean Forward And Look At Mike Hock into joint first position going into the Music round.

We thought music was a little on the easy side tonight but most of our Quiz Teams disagreed. The top score came from Everyone Lean Forward And Look At Mike Hock who got a meaty 9. The other challengers gagged, with five teams getting just sevens, so this left us with Everyone Lean Forward And Look At Mike Hock a good two points in the lead on 27 going into the halfway stage of the quiz. Nearest challengers were Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales and The Collyflowers on 25.

Q15 Take Back The City was a song on the 2008 album A Hundred Million Suns... who’s the band?
Q20 What was the title of Ant & Dec’s 1993 debut single originally performed on the children's drama show Byker Grove?

Next we had the snacks break, five minutes to have a fag, order some more drinks or just get some fresh air in the stifling heat! Tonight's savouries were a selection of spicy Hula Hoops, Bacon Rashers and the return of an old favourite, Onion Rings. As usual the snacks all went down well and got the teams suitably excited for the round that sorts the stayers from the droopers… Sport.

Sport was quite easy this week, most teams did very well. With top Quiz Teams that play The Colly Quiz and questions like this are we surprised?

Q25 Which two comedians sang on the song 3 Lions which became an anthem during Euro 96?
Q27 In golf what is the name of the instrument that measures the pace of the greens?

Her Majesty's Secret Cervix and Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales were pulled themselves back into contention with excellent nines. Eights from My Sperm Count Is… and One (Idiot) Born Every Minute got second in the round but left them some way of pole, but the big losers in this round were Everyone Lean Forward And Look At Mike Hock who seemed to have peaked to early, returning a limp sex.

This made the last round Film & TV very interesting and there were a foursome that could potentially win it. Favourites, as they were in the lead, Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales on 34, joint sloppy seconds, Her Majesty's Secret Cervix and Everyone Lean Forward And Look At Mike Hock with outsiders The Collyflowers on 32.

The Film & TV Round had a couple of really stiff questions, surprisingly one or two teams got them but here's a couple of the easier ones!

Q35 What is the name of the pink cow in the Magic Roundabout?
Q40 Nice wheels. Dirty deals. And one mean mother in a kilt is the tagline for which 2001 movie?

Two teams came in joint winners on nine, our newlyweds She & Him and the favourites Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales. So with their nearest rivals unable to match the final round score let alone better it, our regulars, this week named Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales got a deserved round of applause for winning week 80s Colly Quiz.

Freda presented the winning team with the usual choice of three brown DL envelopes… which would they choose, left and right have recently been good but Richard N, who likes to buck a trend went for middle. After a little pause he slowly opened the slip of paper retrieved and announced CASH!

Well drawn Richard, so the substantial £156 prize was won by team Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales who immediately donated £38 back into the pot for next week. Thanks guys, very generous.

During the exciting draw, Gemma had been doing the rounds with her little yellow Post-It's getting money in for the final question on Quiz Night, the Wild Card. One pound for one question with a numerical or date answer and the whole pot collected goes to the person who gets the nearest. Quiz 80s Wild Card was worth a not to be sniffed at £35… for a quid that's good odds on a guess and the question as you would probably expect based on the picture round was on Porn!

Our Picture Round tonight featured Porn Stars, one of which was Ron Jeremy, nicknamed the hedgehog (we’ll put a link on The Colly website to show how he got that nickname!).

Ron has been in the porn industry since 1979 and he’s in The Gunness Book of World Records for the Most Appearances in Adult Films. Yes, you’ve guessed it, tonights Wild Card Question is how many skin flicks has Ron Jeremy made according to the International Adult Film Database?

You could see the thoughts going through peoples minds, thirty years in porn, how many films / scenes a year could you possibly do? There were some interesting answers posted up on John's table, in perfect formation of course!

After checking everyone was in, John started to sift through the results, below 1,000 went out. Then below 2,000 went out. Then above 3,000 went out (in just over 30 years that's one scene every three and a half days?). Eventually we were left with four yellow Post-It's all within 32 of the correct answer, obviously the number of scenes missing from their collective library!

In reverse order we had Guy M fourth closest, Rob N third (could have been his 7th Wild Card win!), James H from The Collyflowers in second but in first (and I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong) winning his third Wild Card, Chris M just 16 scenes out.

What a prize though, £35 for a guess… or was it a guess Chris? Do you have insider knowledge? Are you Ron Jeremy expert?

Joking aside, the Wild Card can be a better Cash Prize than winning the quiz and I'm sure Chris will agree!

And that was it, Quiz 80 came and went, with a Goodnight and God Bless from John it was all over for another week. Thanks to everyone who turned out, it was a very entertaining night and we hope to see you all for Quiz 81 where we start with a £38 rollover thanks to our very generous winners Dwayne Geordie Shearer Middleton Wales.
