It was another good turnout for Quiz 145 and our 31 quizzers in nine Teams took the Cash Prize up to the £120 we were hoping for.
It was a well contested Quiz with He & She & Him, Let’s Get Quizzical, The Hasty Puddings and The Duke Of Wellington Is Back! all in the mix... up until the Sports Round. The eventual winners, He & She & Him, triumphed due to their superior score in the penultimate round and Team Member Phil 'The Power' Mac then went and pulled the Cash Prize. Our winners are a generous bunch though, they put £30 back in the pot for Quiz 146 so a decent turnout could take this up to £60 plus on the night.
The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (The clue this week is so tenuous... and it's not watches, just look at the lines.). Following the pics we then have four themed rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for free snacks and topping up drinks after round two.
The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.
After the main Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid. It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night for the Wild Card. Quiz 145 had a £24 Cash Prize and this week there were four answers that were close but it was Karis who was the closest. So what a finish to a fun night at The Colly Quiz for Karis who was well chuffed leaving with £24 extra in her purse! The biggest winner to date is Jonathan B who scooped a massive £47 in Quiz 55.
Come on down and join us for The Colly Quiz, it's a belting night out and as Karis found this week... it can be worth a few quid too!
