Another good turnout for Quiz 147 and the 32 quizzers in eight Teams took the Cash Prize up to a very nice £106.

It was a well contested Quiz with Hello Jim, Goodbye John, The Academy, The Peoples Front Of Judea and Another Day, Another Quiz (Idiots) all in the running to take top spot. It went to the wire with The Academy just a nose in front of The Peoples Front Of Judea by a couple of points in the last round. The winning team just managed to get the Beers though which means the £106 rolls on to Quiz 148 so another decent turnout could take this up to a Cash Prize of £140 plus.

As a few of our regulars won't be here for next weeks final Quiz before Christmas, Quiz 148 will have a Christmas Theme... and if time allows we may even have a Christmas multimedia round. We start at 9.00pm with a Christmas Picture Round* (The clue this week is "A final pay day for fading stars"). Following the pics we will then have four Christmas themed rounds, General Knowledge, Music, International and Film & TV with a five minute break for free snacks and topping up drinks after the Xmas Music round.

The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by  Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.

After the main Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid. It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night for the Wild Card. Quiz 147 had a decent £29 Cash Prize and there were answers that were close but it was Mike H who was the closest. It was the end to  an excellent night for Mike, his team won the Quiz and he trousered £29 to boot. The biggest winner to date is Jonathan B who scooped a massive £47 in Quiz 55.

Come on down and join us for The Colly Quiz, it's a belting night out and as Mike will agree... it can be worth a few quid too!
