We had six teams turn out for Quiz 125, the 21 Quizzers involved taking the cash prize up to a decent £39. Can You Tell What It Is Yet? It's My Hand Down Your Pants! led the quiz from the off and won by three points despite a late burst from their nearest challengers RIP Alfredo.
Can You Tell What It Is Yet? It's My Hand Down Your Pants! then drew the Cash Prize but generously donated it back into the pot for Quiz 126 so we should have £60+ in readies to play for Monday night.
A special mention to Ronan, Shona and Lorna for the best team name we have had in ages – Didgeridon't – they might not have won the Quiz but they got a laugh every time their scores were read out. We should maybe start handing out a prize for the best Team Name.
The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (the clue this week is – "Since the 12th of June we've seen some great games from each of these venues" ) then four themed rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for free snacks and topping up drinks after the Music Round.
The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.
After the main Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid. It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night. Sarah S, member of the winning team, won Quiz 125s £19 Wild Card and immediately got the round in, well done Sarah! The biggest winner to date is Jonathan B who scooped a massive £47 in Quiz 55.
Come on down and join in The Colly Quiz, it's an entertaining night out and it can be worth a few quid if you are lucky!
