What an exciting night Quiz 130 turned out to be. Not only did we have a superb turnout of 32 Quizzers making up ten teams but we were also joined by Sky 1 TV cameras!
The big turnout increased the Cash Prize on offer to a fairly decent £42. It was a close run thing throughout the night and going into the final Film and TV Round there were three teams in it. It was tight but new boys The Peoples Front Of Judea clinched their first Colly Quiz win by beating Frankie Goes To Dollywood by two points.
Winning duo The Peoples Front Of Judea pulled the Food Vouchers though, so that means with a good crowd there could be a Cash Prize of £80+ for Quiz 131. We could also have the Sky 1 TV cameras on the night to ramp up the excitement even more.
The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (the clue this week is – "Don't be negative about those Premiership sponsors" ) then four themed rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for free snacks and topping up drinks after the Music Round.
The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.
After the main Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid. It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night. Quiz 130 had a £29 Wild Card and our lucky winner was a team entry from Quiz On My Face Again who were very excited at winning the cash. Well done team Quiz On My Face Again we hope to see you again for Quiz 131. The biggest Wild Card winner to date is Jonathan B who scooped a massive £47 in Quiz 55.
Come on down and join in The Colly Quiz, it's an entertaining night out and it can be worth a few quid if you are lucky!
