We had eight teams turn out for Quiz 132 and the 24 Quizzers involved took the Cash Prize to three figures for the first time in weeks.
It was a cracking Quiz, very closely fought throughout but a decisive Sports Round by Hatfield’s Mob put them so far ahead of the field that even a maximum score in Film & TV by Darling Dickies Definitely Dead! couldn't knock them from top spot. The lovely Jen from winners Hatfield’s Mob drew the Beers though so that means a £100 rollover could boost the Cash Prize to £130 plus if we have a good turnout for Quiz 133.
The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (the clue this week is – "Actually there's two of this style hanging in the back room of The Colly" ) then four themed rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for free snacks and topping up drinks after the Music Round.
The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.
After the main Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid. It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night. Quiz 132 had a £29 Wild Card and our lucky winners this week were team Two Pigs. We think they would be the first to admit they weren't in danger of winning the main Quiz prize but scooping £29 in the Wild Card certainly made it a worthwhile night for the guys. The biggest winner to date is Jonathan B who scooped a massive £47 in Quiz 55.
Come on down and join in The Colly Quiz, it's an entertaining night out and it can be worth a few quid if you are lucky!
