Well what a cracking night Quiz 133 was. We had nine teams turn out and the bumper 38 Quizzers involved took the Cash Prize to a massive £138.
It was an excellent Quiz, nip and tuck throughout but ended up being a straight fight between Jehovahs Witnesses (Marbella Branch) and Forty Licks in the final round. They couldn't be separated in Film & TV, both getting equal marks so we went to a Dart Off for the first time in ages. Phil 'The Power' Mac representing Jehovahs Witnesses (Marbella Branch) emerged victorious from the contest and then went and pulled the Cash Prize! The winners generously put £18 back in the pot so with a decent turnout we could be looking at £40+ for Quiz 134.
The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (the clue this week is – "Fancy touring around Europe? What a Capital idea!") then four themed rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for free snacks and topping up drinks after the Music Round.
The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.
After the main Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid. It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night. Quiz 133 had a near record £39 for the Wild Card and would you believe it two of our players, David H and Christy guessed the answer spot on so it was another Dart Off! Christy won this one and walked off to a huge round of applause with her £39 Cash Prize. The biggest winner to date is Jonathan B who scooped a massive £47 in Quiz 55.
Come on down and join in The Colly Quiz, it's an entertaining night out and it can be worth a few quid!
