It was a fab turnout for our first Quiz of the New Year and our 30 quizzers in nine Teams took the Cash Prize up to the £60.
It was a well entertaining Quiz where winners My Mums The Queen So You Have To Shag Me! took the lead early on and just didn't let anyone else have a look in. I Wish My Knob Was As Big As This Microphone, Three Amigos, and New Year, Same Idiots all had a go but the eventual winners just didn't relinquish the lead from the very first round. The good news is My Mums The Queen So You Have To Shag Me! pulled the envelope with the beers so it means for Quiz 151 on Monday we have a reasonable £60 in the pot. A good turnout could increase that to over the £90 mark.
The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (The clue this week is "It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights..."). Following the pics we then have four themed rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for free snacks and topping up drinks after round two.
The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.
After the main Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid (or if you want two goes it's £2, three £3 etc). It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night for the Wild Card. Quiz 150 had a £23 Cash Prize and this week there were just two answers that were close but it was barman Jay who was the closest. So what a finish to a fun nights shift at The Colly Quiz for Jay who was well chuffed clearing up with an extra £23 in his pocket! The biggest winner to date is Jonathan B who scooped a massive £47 in Quiz 55.
Come on down and join us for The Colly Quiz, it's a belting night out and as Jay is proving quite regularly it can result in a nice little cash bonus!
