It wasn't a bad turnout of 30 for last weeks Quiz 195 considering the Cash Prize of £207 had gone the previous week. Our 11 teams boosted the Cash to £57 and were eager to win no matter what the prize!

The Hasty Puddings once more raced into the lead but this week joined by Jokes About Women’s Hygiene Are Not Funny, Period! who also started strongly. The Hasty Puddings  then led at every stage throughout the Quiz closely tailed at various stages by Bad Week For Brothel Owners, Super Spontaneous Wrecks Expialidocious, Even Though The Sound Of It Is Something Quite Atrocious and Jokes About Women’s Hygiene Are Not Funny, Period!

By the final round, The Hasty Puddings were three points in the lead and it looked like the Quiz was all over bar the shouting. Super Spontaneous Wrecks Expialidocious, Even Though The Sound Of It Is Something Quite Atrocious made a fist of it with a belting final round but The Hasty Puddings held there nerve this week to win by an impressive four points in the end.

The Hasty Puddings bounce back to win Quiz 195 after last weeks disappointment. You can see what Jon from the Spontaneous Wrecks (behind) thinks!

There was a near silence around the bar as one of the guys drew the envelope and a collective sigh of relief as he announced Beers! Unlucky The Hasty Puddings but that's a great result for the Quiz as it means we start off with a £57 rollover for Quiz 196 which could mean a near £100 prize if we get a decent turnout on Monday.

The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (The clue this week is "Between 1994 and 2005 there was a communications revolution"). Following the Pics we then have four rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for the free snacks and topping up drinks after round two. And, as we have been doing recently, with our new additions of slightly younger teams we're currently including some more 'up to date' questions.

The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.

After the Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid (or if you want two goes it's £2, three £3 etc). It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken for the Wild Card on the night. We had a reasonable £23 Cash Prize for the Quiz 195 Wild Card but our lucky winner this week was Alex from The Fire Lizards who got his guess spot on. Well done to Alex, with his first Wild Card win. Our biggest Wild Card winner to date is Mike H who scored for a massive £61 in Quiz 177!

Alex was well chuffed picking up his winnings from Gemma at the bar, his Team may not have won the Quiz but he left £23 better off than when he came in!

Come and join us for The Colly Quiz, it's an entertaining Monday night out and as Alex found out, even if you don't win the main Quiz it's always worth putting a quid on the Wild Card!
