We weren't expecting it but there was another cracking turnout for Quiz 169. The bar was packed with 44 Quizzers in 12 teams taking our paltry £10 rollover up to a reasonable £54.

It was a very entertaining and well contested Quiz but Spontaneous Wrecks Live At The Bridge – Get Your Flyer From The Piano must have been seriously revising as they sprinted into the lead from the off. They held that lead for the rest of the Quiz and by the final round there were only Ginger Dictator Free Zone, the Hasty Puddings and The Laaads any were near them. Spontaneous Wrecks Live At The Bridge – Get Your Flyer From The Piano held on to their lead and won the Quiz by two points despite coming second in Film & TV.

Louise from the winning team drew the beers so we start our Bank Holiday Quiz 170 with a nice £54 in the kitty. Another decent turnout this week and we would be back up to nearly £100!

Spontaneous Wrecks Live At The Bridge won their first ever Quiz but drew the Beers.

The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (The clue this week is "pedigree patria"). Following the pics we then have four themed rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for the free snacks and topping up drinks after round two.

The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.

After the Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid (or if you want two goes it's £2, three £3 etc). It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night. We had another big £39 Cash Prize for the Quiz 169 Wild Card and there were three guys very close... Maddy got excited when Quiz Master John read her name out but she was in third place with 12. Dave with a smiley face :) on his entry was closer still with an eight but our winner this week was Brian C who was just one off the answer with a nine. The biggest Wild Card Winner to date is Andy who scooped a massive £48 in Quiz 158.

Brian C with his £39 Wild Card win, not bad for a quid stake!

Come on down and join us for The Colly Quiz, it's always an entertaining night out and as Brian found, if you're lucky you can end up forty quid better off!
