It was a decent turnout of 36 Quizzers for Quiz 180 and the eleven teams involved took the Cash Prize to a tempting £96.

It was another tightly contested Quiz with three teams battling it out and there wasn't much in it going into the final Film & TV Round. Surprise, Surprise! had a slender lead of 42.5, Where’s Brendan When You Don’t Need Him? were right on their tails with 41.5 and then six points separated third placed Rascal Ferrets On Vibes, Vibes, Vibes who were on 35.5.

Where’s Brendan When You Don’t Need Him? only managed a five on the final round. The outsiders Rascal Ferrets On Vibes, Vibes, Vibes did well to come in second in Film & TV with an eight, but yes, it was no surprise that Surprise, Surprise! team member Sarah’s exceptional knowledge of all things celluloid, cathode, LCD and DVD won them the round and the nights Quiz with a nine.

Team member Richard then went and drew the £96 Cash to further sweeten the dynamic duo's win. The generous winners put £16 back into the pot for Quiz 181 so with a good turnout on Monday we could be playing for near £50... but it's the prestige of winning The Colly Quiz that counts isn't it?

The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (The clue this week is "A classic situation of Word Up comedy"). Following the Pics we then have four themed rounds of General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for the free snacks and topping up drinks after round two.

The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.

Sarah won the Quiz then went and guessed the £33 Wild Card... what a result!

After the Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid (or if you want two goes it's £2, three £3 etc). It's one obscure question where we are looking for a number or date and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken on the night. We had £33 in for the Quiz 180 Wild Card and there were two close to the answer we were after but it was, would you believe it, Sarah from Quiz winning duo Surprise, Surprise! who was the closest and won herself another £33. Our biggest Wild Card winner to date is Mike H who scored for a massive £61 in Quiz 177.

Come on down and join us for The Colly Quiz, it's always an entertaining night out and as Sarah will tell you even if you win the Cash Prize in the Quiz it's still worth putting in a quid for the Wild Card question!
