Last weeks Quiz 211 was another night of quality entertainment and a keen crowd of 31 Quizzers in nine teams took the Cash Prize on offer to a half decent £126.

The eventual winners drew the Beers though so a good turnout this coming Monday could see our teams playing for over £150.

It's not just about the winning though, our Quiz is always a laugh, whether it be the subject of the questions, the Team names or even the dodgy answers given there's always a laugh to be had.

Get here early and try one of our really spicy authentic Thai Curries

If you fancy a crack at The Colly Quiz make sure you get here early as it has been fairly busy for the last few weeks. In fact, why not make a night of it and come down for a pre-Quiz meal... we have some fantastic food on the menu including authentic (and hot!!) Thai Curries plus the finest Latin Burgers in Newcastle! Check out our menu.

The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (The clue this week is "With no clear supervision Quentin Cameron went for a Burton"). Following the Pics we then have four rounds on General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for the free snacks and topping up drinks after round two.

The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.

The winners of last weeks Quiz were the Thank God Jack’s Not In! who won their first quiz for a few weeks by a comfortable four points in the end. Team member Hodgie drew the Beers so we go into Monday's Quiz with a rollover of £126.

Back to winning ways. After a bit of a drought one of our regular Teams, this week called Thank God Jack’s Not In! managed a win but drew the beers.

Every week after the Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid (or if you want two goes it's £2, three £3 etc). It's one very obscure question where we are looking for a number or date that nobody in their right mind would know and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken for the Wild Card on the night.

There was a decent £26 in the pot for Quiz 211s Wild Card and it was another regular, Jon, was the lucky winner on the night. Our biggest Wild Card winner to date is Mike H who scored for a massive £61 in Quiz 177!

Jon F from Spontaneous Wrecks got himself a tidy £26 in ready cash by winning the Wild Card

Come and join us for Quiz 212 at The Colly, it's always a canny Monday night's crack and this week, we could be playing for a potential £150 plus Cash Prize.

Quiz Tip: You need to have a broad range of ages as well as knowledge in a team for The Colly Quiz. So if you are youngish try to get an older friend to join your team for the 70s and 80s questions and if you are on the wrong side of 40 try and get your kids or younger work colleagues to join you for the Music, TV and Films from the last 10 years.
