Last weeks Quiz 213 was another record breaker... it equaled the smallest turnout for the Quiz ever! Just 17 Quizzers were there but it was still a cracking Quiz. We are hoping there will be a few more playing this Monday where we start off with £37 in the rollover so we could be playing for a Cash Prize of £60 or £70.

It's not just about the winning though, our Quiz is always a bit of a laugh, whether it be the subject of the questions, the Team Names or even the local pooch Cosmo winning a Wild Card Question at the end of the night... there's always some chuckles to be had.

Get here early and treat yourself to an authentic Thai Curries

If you fancy a crack at The Colly Quiz make sure you get here early as it has been fairly busy recently (well, apart from last week and the week before). In fact, why not make a night of it and come down for a pre-Quiz meal... we have some tasty food on the menu including authentic (and a tad spicy!) Thai Curries plus the finest Latin Burgers in Newcastle! Check out our menu.

The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (The clue this week is "Who's been looking closely at the tabloids recently... sounds easy doesn't it!"). Following the Pics we then have four rounds on General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for the free snacks and topping up drinks after round two.

The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.

The winners of last weeks Quiz were our regulars Cross His Feet I’ve Only Got Three Nails who came from behind to take the Quiz in the final round Film & TV. Team member Richard went and drew the Food Vouchers so this week it could be a Cash prize of £50-£60!

Our Mini-Quiz 213 Winners, regulars Cross His Feet I’ve Only Got Three Nails got the Food Vouchers but they were run close by The Sundowners.

Every week after the Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid (or if you want two goes it's £2, three £3 etc). It's one very obscure question where we are looking for a number or date that nobody in their right mind would know and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken for the Wild Card on the night.

There was £14 in the pot for Quiz 213s Wild Card (which could be another record low!) and it was local pooch Cosmo, who was the lucky winner on the night. Our biggest Wild Card winner to date is Mike H who scored for a massive £61 in Quiz 177!

Cosmo was well chuffed, it might have been just a £14 Wild Card but it still meant extra Bonio's for him!

Come and join us for Quiz 214 at The Colly this Monday, it's always a decent night out and this week, we could be playing for a potential £60 plus Cash Prize.

Quiz Tip: You need to have a broad range of ages as well as knowledge in a team for The Colly Quiz. So if you are youngish try to get an older friend to join your team for the 70s and 80s questions and if you are on the wrong side of 40 try and get your kids or younger work colleagues to join you for the Music, TV and Films from the last 10 years.
