Well last week was a real surprise, here's us expecting the worst turnout ever then forty people arrive for the Quiz... absolutely fantastic! Lets hope for more of the same this Bank Holiday Monday.

There's a £46 rollover which means another cracking 40 turnout would take us to a near £90 Cash Prize, now winning that would make a good finish to your Bank Holiday wouldn't it?

Get here early and treat yourself to one of our authentic Thai Curries

If you fancy a crack at The Colly Quiz, it's a great way to start the week, we would love to see you and new teams are always welcome. You could always make a night of it and come down for a pre-Quiz meal... we have some delicious food on the menu including authentic (and a tad spicy!) Thai Curries plus the finest Latin Burgers in Newcastle! Check out our menu.

The Quiz starts at 9.00pm with a Picture Round* (The clue this week is "An exotic costermonger should be able to supply five"). Following the Pics we then have four rounds on General Knowledge, Music, Sport and Film and TV with a five minute break for the free snacks and topping up drinks after round two.

The winners of the nights Quiz choose from three envelopes that contain either the cash prize, food vouchers or a case of drinks. If the cash isn't drawn it rolls over to the next weeks Quiz, the biggest cash prize to date is £317 won by Hand Over The Cash Michaela 25/03/13 in Quiz 63.

The winners of last weeks Quiz were, He’s Traded In His Little Red Corvette For A Big Black Hearse who won for the second week in a row by the slimmest of margins. They pulled the Food Vouchers though so therefore we have the £46 already in the pot for Quiz 218, a decent turnout and we will be up near the £90 mark for Bank Holiday Monday.

Our Winners, He’s Traded In His Little Red Corvette For A Big Black Hearse, might have just drawn the Food Vouchers but they were as happy as everyone else that the £46 was rolling over to Quiz 218

Every week after the Quiz we have a Wild Card Question which anyone in the bar can join in for a quid (or if you want two goes it's £2, three £3 etc). It's one very obscure question where we are looking for a number or date that nobody in their right mind would know and the nearest to the actual answer gets the whole pot of money taken for the Wild Card on the night.

There was a massive £40 in the pot for Quiz 217s Wild Card and it was a new winner, Joe W, who was the lucky man on the night. Our biggest Wild Card winner to date is Mike H who scored for a massive £61 in Quiz 177!

Joe W's one pound entry magically turned into a £40 Wild Card win and he was well chuffed!

Come and join us for Quiz 218 at The Colly this Bank Holiday Monday, it's always a canny night out plus you get some delicious free half-time snacks and this week, we could be playing for a £80 plus Cash Prize.

*If you would like to give us an idea for an interesting Picture Round feel free, we are always looking for new subjects. Send us an Email, Tweet or add your idea to the comment box below.

Quiz Tip: You need to have a broad range of ages as well as knowledge in a team for The Colly Quiz. So if you are youngish try to get an older friend to join your team for the 70s and 80s questions and if you are on the wrong side of 40 try and get your kids or younger work colleagues to join you for the Music, TV and Films from the last 10 years.
